Mathletes

Mathletes participate in math competitions against other grade schools. The competitions are held at area high schools, such as St. Patrick, Notre Dame, and Fenwick. Leading up to competitions, Mathletes practice after school once a week. Mathletes solve more complicated math problems than those in the regular math curriculum. The added benefits of being a Mathlete are extra math instruction and practice, as well as TerraNova test preparation. Also, Mathletes receive exposure to and guided tours of high schools they may consider attending.

Student Council

Student Council organizes events that build school spirit, strengthen the sense of community, and are fun and entertaining for all students. Students in 4th-8th grade may be nominated by their teachers for membership in Student Council. These students are outgoing, full of energy and ideas, creative, hardworking, and interested in finding new and exciting ways to improve our school and community. Student Council meets after school on Wednesdays throughout the school year.  Student Council sponsors the Talent Show, Neighborhood cleanup, junior high dances, fundraising for sports, painting the basement, Holiday candy grams, and Lion’s Den.

Arts and Crafts Club

Facilitated by our Arts teacher Sr. Sue Paweski, S.P., this club focuses on dynamic projects that require more time than a typical class period allows. The agenda this year features jewelry, print-making, and macramé.

Homework Club

Led by our teachers, this club gives students opportunities outside the school day for extra guidance on their work and a quiet space to do it.

We also offer...

  • Chess Club

  • "Let's Build It!" Engineering Club

  • Stage Stars Club

  • Zumba

Thanks to Afterschool Enrichment Solutions for providing these activities!
