Mr. Alvarado joined St. Genevieve Catholic School as the principal in July of 2022 and has been actively serving in various ministries in St. Genevieve’s parish since 2017. He and his wife are both from Ecuador and are proud to serve the St. Genevieve community. They are blessed with three children: Derek, Adrian, and Ariana. One graduated from St. Genevieve in 2022 and another is a current student. 


Mr. Alvarado is honored to have received his Pastoral Leadership “Lay” certificate from the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein Seminary. Prior to his role at St. Gen’s, he was an IB Spanish teacher and Restorative practices coach at Michele Clark Academic Prep Magnet High School from 2016-2022. Mr. Alvarado was also the Dean of Students at Roosevelt High School from 2008-2015. There, he gained extensive experience in culture and climate as well as operational leadership, developing a solid foundation for his leadership roles. 


Mr. Alvarado holds a Bachelor of Arts in the Teaching of Spanish from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Lewis University; he is currently a student at Catholic Theological Union for a Master in Hispanic ministries.
